Before new cloth goes on, the pockets get stripped back and cleaned. Old glue residue gets removed so the new cloth can lay flat, stretch evenly, and finish clean. It’s not the flashy part of a recover, but it’s what keeps pockets tight, wrinkles away, and the table playing the way it should.
