ICE RESCUE TRAINING: First responders from Stanton Fire and Rescue and Pilger spent the morning training with Pierce Fire and Rescue at Maskenthine Lake, along with Stanton County EMA. Today marked perfect training conditions because this is the weather where people mistakenly think it’s OK for one last day ice fishing. We stress - it is NOT safe. One wrong step onto thin ice can become a rescue call, and today, the Ocean City Fire Department was preparing for exactly that as our waterways freeze over.
